Battlefield 6 review

A large-scale shooter that rediscovers class identity, destruction, and seasonal maps—best when you queue with a squad that fills all four roles.

Score: 8.4 / 10 — Battlefield 6 is the franchise’s clearest “all-out warfare” reset in years. Launch maps like Mirak Valley and Operation Firestorm still deliver the vehicle sandbox fantasy, while infantry cages (Empire State, Saints Quarter) cover the short-session itch.

What works

The Assault / Engineer / Support / Recon quartet finally feels purposeful again, even with open-weapon playlists. Destruction and movement systems keep fights readable. Season 1’s REDSEC layer gives free-to-play players a battle royale on-ramp without gutting the premium MP suite.

What doesn’t

Population cooled hard after the October 2025 peak—check player count before grinding alone in off-hours. Balance swings each season; treat any weapon tier list as dated to the current patch.

Who should buy

Buy Standard if you want the game. Jump to Phantom only if cosmetics and Battle Pass skips matter. Skip PS4 hopes—it is not supported.
